1930's Pilliod Faux Grain Painted Mirrored Wood Box:
 

This Art Deco mirrored jewelry or dresser box was made by Pilliod of Swanton, Ohio and has finger-jointed construction. The wood is painted with a faux grain and the handle is made of a green Catalin/Bakelite phenolic plastic. There is some moderate wear to the finish, mostly shallow scratches and scuffs (which were remedied nicely with some lemon oil for the photos). The mirror is starting to get a bit cloudy from silvering loss, but has no large portions of silvering missing. No breaks to the wood. Signed on bottom.
