Petrified Wood Slab & Hollow Tree Duck Pond Motif Handmade Folk Art Ashtray & Pen Holder:

This great old ashtray was made out of a slab of petrified wood, which is a very nice specimen itself. Mounted to the slab is a hollowed out slab of a tree stump or limb. The whole piece is heavily shellacked and there is a pool of shellac inside the hollow stump. Inside the shellac are little baby ducks, two encased mostly in the shellac and one loose on top. There is another baby duck and a larger duck sitting on the edge of the pond as pictured.

There is no damage to this piece. There is some minor tarnish to the pen holder portion. The slab of petrified wood is quite large and measures 5 5/8 inches long. Maker unknown. *Make an offer
