This is an authentic antique Gaudy Welsh ironstone hydra jug / creamer pitcher (c. 1830s–1860s). The small pitcher features a traditional multi-sided octagonal body form hand-painted in a vibrant Imari-style palette of deep cobalt blue, iron-red/orange flowers, green leaves, and prominent metallic copper and pink luster highlights.

The piece features a distinctive molded "Hydra" split-legged dragon or serpent handle, where the animal's jaws grip the scalloped upper rim and its webbed feet splay out flat across the paneled body rows. The flat base is unmarked, which is common for early English and Welsh ironstone pieces from this era. Condition is very good for its age, showing minimal luster wear, clean enamel paint, and zero structural chips or cracks and no significant surface wear.

Measures about 5 1/4 inches tall. Refer to the photos for a better idea of the style and condition, you will receive the exact pitcher that is pictured.
