Vintage David White Co Milwaukee Surveyor Transit Compass Attachment Made in USA

This is a vintage surveying transit/level compass attachment manufactured by David White Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Housed in a heavy crinkle-finish black metal casing, the instrument features a 0–90 quadrant degree dial face, a red-tipped needle, an external side needle lock mechanism, and a bottom mounting bracket designed to secure onto a surveying transit scope or standard tripod base. The dial face is clearly marked "DAVID WHITE CO. MILWAUKEE, WIS. MADE IN U.S.A." Measuring just over 3 inches in diameter, it is in solid pre-owned condition with smooth needle movement and light, expected wear to the finish. The compass and the stop both work fine.
