This exceptional piece of mid-to-late 20th-century Italian art glass is an authentic Murano Scavo Glass Amphora Vase, strongly attributable to the legendary workshops of Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Archimede Seguso). Beautifully executed to mimic the weathered elegance of an ancient Roman archaeological relic, the vase features a classic classical silhouette crafted in a rich pinkish-amethyst translucent glass base.

The main body showcases a textbook example of the celebrated Scavo technique, where mineral and chemical treatments are applied to the hot glass to create a distinctive, frosted, calcified texture that feels soft and ancient to the touch. In stunning contrast, the wide-mouthed flared rim, neck, and lower base feature a high-gloss, heavily reactive metallic iridescence that flashes brilliant shades of gold, copper, and blue under direct light. The neck is flanked by two elegantly scrolled, applied glass handles. Blown by hand, the underside features a beautifully ground and polished pontil mark, confirming its traditional Venetian workshop origin. It is in pristine condition with no chips or cracks—an elite find for collectors of fine Venetian art glass.
