An expressive vintage mid-century studio art pottery vase featuring an asymmetrical, organically pinched oval rim and a unique cut tripod foot base. Hand-thrown from textured stoneware clay in a warm buff-tan speckled satin finish, highlighted by comb-textured sgraffito vertical fluting and bold abstract cobalt blue and white slip swirl motifs, reminiscent of an abstract stylized eye. The underside is incised with an artist monogram signature and date '51. In excellent studio condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Measures 7 inches tall.
