Antique 18th Century Folding Corkscrew Pipe Tamper Travel Wine Bottle Opener

Antique late 19th to early 20th-century folding pocket corkscrew / travel wine bottle opener. Crafted from forged iron/steel, this compact barware tool features an ingenious hinged folding T-handle design that opens and locks into a sturdy pulling handle, and folds flat for easy pocket carry. The side of the handle has a smoking pipe tamper, the tamper is broken off the other side as pictured. The sharp, hand-forged wire helix (worm) remains intact and sharp with a clean center. In very good antique working condition with smooth pivoting hinges, solid lockup when extended, and an attractive dark, uncleaned oxidized steel patina throughout.
