Antique c. 1920 Large Format Photograph DuBois PA Train Station Depot Crowd

This is a large, panoramic sepia-toned photograph, captured circa 1910–1920, housed in its original antique wooden frame. The frame features a rich, dark "tiger stripe" or flame grain veneer. The photo was taken by Phil Griesemer of DuBois. The photo shows the downtown DuBois train station depot with an enormous crowd gathered at the depot with several hundred of the attendees on top of C&O Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad train box cars. A small boy was captured running on top of a roof beside the train. 

The photo was taken circa 1920, and likely was of an event such as soldiers returning from World War I or a political campaign whistlestop. The back of the photo has no identification or date. Photo is in good condition with no major damage. It shows some slight staining to the bottom of the matte and some light waving in the photo on board.

The frame measures almost 15 1/2 inches wide and is in pretty nice condition with minimal wear to the finish. Take a moment to look around at the scene, the photograph shows thousands of people interacting in a major event in the center of Downtown DuBois, Pennsylvania and has nice signage on the train cars and on a pair of American Express Co. carts. There is also a car that has its roof draped with a large American flag.
