Antique Cast Iron Parrot Door Knocker Polychrome Bird Articulated Floral striker

This is an antique, hand-painted cast iron door knocker featuring a vibrant, multi-colored parrot. The piece is an oval plaque designed as a parrot perched on a branch, framed by a molded edge. The parrot is brightly painted with a yellow head, a prominent yellow crest, and a multi-colored body featuring red, yellow, and green plumage. The articulated, movable knocker mechanism forms a U-shape around the plaque and terminates in a central, circular floral/rose motif, which functions as the striker.

The plaque retains substantial original paint but shows significant, authentic wear, scuffing, loss, and oxidation (rust) on the underlying cast iron, particularly on the striking mechanism and the edges, providing a desirable patina.
