This is a NOS still full antique Hamilton's Old English Formula Black Oil Compound quack medicine bottle in its original box (c. 1900s–1910s). Manufactured by Kimball Bros. & Co. Incorporated in Enosburg Falls, Vermont, this "man or beast" veterinary and human patent liniment was formulated for treating cuts, burns, sprains, frostbite, and livestock ailments.
The amber glass bottle features embossed lettering on three sides reading "HAMILTON'S / OLD ENGLISH / BLACK OIL", a paper front label, and a original cork stopper. The original chipboard product box displays graphics of a man and a horse with a "PRICE 30 CENTS" tag, and still contains the original rolled paper advertising insert brochure tucked inside. The bottle stands approximately 4 1/2 inches tall.
Condition is very good antique; the glass cork top bottle is crack-free with intact embossing, still full, presumably of the original contents, and a clean paper label, while the original box shows expected tears, missing top flaps, and heavy edge wear consistent with age.
