Antique Primitive Folk Art Wood Pendulum Bobbing Horse Toy Shelf Automaton

Antique primitive folk art pendulum pecking / bobbing horse mechanical toy mounted on an original red painted wooden bracket shelf. Maker is unmarked / unknown. Handmade from hand-painted cut wood featuring a spotted dapple horse with articulated hinged head and tail, connected via braided cord to an ornate cast metal / lead counterbalance weight. When the pendulum ball swings, the horse bobs its head up and down in a drinking motion. Displays authentic aged rustic patina, original paint with natural crazing and wear, and solid structural integrity. A wonderful, highly collectible piece of early American folk art and traditional automaton mechanical toys.
